KHIPU Expands Its Security And Network Operations To The Western Cape
Monday 10th January, 2022
Cape Town – November 2021 – KHIPU Networks, the cybersecurity company, are proud to announce its expansion into Cape Town. This is to facilitate KHIPU’s growth in delivering networking and cyber security solutions and managed services across the Western Cape.
“The expansion is thanks to the success of our Network and Security Operations Centres (NOC and SOC) that are providing a wide range of solutions and services to customers throughout South Africa across all market sectors. The strong growth in customers throughout the Western Cape has created the demand for more local presence from the KHIPU teams, as an extension to the services being delivered from Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha)”. Explains Nicole Kotton, Regional Sales Manager South Africa at KHIPU Networks
This coupled with a continual rise in cyber threats, organisations are actively looking for strategic partnerships with companies that can supply the IT infrastructure and, most importantly, can support and secure it 24x7x365. This is KHIPU’s approach to working with its customers.
Jerome Corns, Senior Director: CTS at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) shared his enthusiasm towards the expansion and speaks of his current engagements with KHIPU.
“We have been working with KHIPU Networks since early 2020 out of an urgent need to provide our students with a remote connectivity solution during the first lockdown. KHIPU rose to the occasion and were able to deliver the solution within days and provide a secure, reliable, cost effective means for the institution to continue providing education services to our students.
Since our initial engagement we have had numerous conversation around additional services offered by KHIPU that would provide value to the university, namely Managed Detection and Response Service and Digital Risk Management and Protection. We are pleased to see they are investing in the region and although their service has to date always been exceptional we believe having them in region will only add additional value.”
The Cape Town branch will accommodate the expansion of KHIPU’s commercial, NOC and SOC teams, with further growth plans already underway.
“Since the launch of our SOC in 2019, it has proven very successful with customers. Not only demonstrating increased cyber threat protection and return on investment through our capabilities, our continued focus on ransomware prevention, detection, response and recovery is helping organisations combat threats which are continually causing havoc in today’s hybrid work environment.” adds Hannes Kriel, Technical Manager South Africa at KHIPU Networks
Although KHIPU Networks was founded and is originally a UK based company their growth in South Africa since their original investment in 2012 has been exceptional. The company has invested heavily in the upliftment and development of local Cyber Security skills and the team has become one of the leading players within the South African market.
Many international IT companies have entered the African market but very few have expanded their businesses with such conviction and investment. Often within South African we see a commercial investment but KHIPU have not only invested from a commercial prospective but have migrated there technical NOC and SOC to South Africa growing our skills and creating opportunities across all market sectors.
We are pleased to see they have no intention of slowing down at this point and the continued growth is both exciting and beneficial to our rainbow nation.
“We are really looking forward to this expansion as many of our customers and partners including Palo Alto Networks, HPE Aruba, Infoblox and Rubrik have been asking us for many years to extend the teams to Cape Town and provide more localised support in this region. Demand is at an all-time for trusted suppliers who can provide reliable, secure and cost effective solutions with managed services”. Concludes Matt Ashman Chief Commercial Officer and Co-Founder of KHIPU Networks.
