Why having a ransomware Incident Response Plan and Solution is critical in today’s fight against cyber crime.
Colchester Institute is the largest vocational college serving North Essex and the surrounding areas. The Senior Leadership Team was concerned with the rise in ransomware attacks in education. The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) issued an alert to education in March 2021, stating:
“Since late February 2021, an increased number of ransomware attacks have affected education establishments in the UK, including schools, colleges and universities. In recent incidents affecting the education sector, ransomware has led to the loss of student coursework, school financial records, as well as data relating to COVID-19 testing”.
