Khipu Networks, an advanced systems integrator announce that over 72,000 users are being managed and controlled by Campus Manager within over 20 UK Higher Education institutions.
Bradford Campus Manager is the leading Higher Education Network Access Control Solution that has been specifically developed to meet the requirements within Higher Education environments, to manage and control access from a wide range of ‘un-managed’ devices.
A number of our new and existing customers, have not only deployed Campus Manager to control and protect their student Halls of Residence / ResNet networks, but also to manage access to other areas within their Institutions including:
- Main Campus Wireless and Wired Network;
Allowing a wide of range of users to bring their own devices onto the production Campus Network after they have been scanned and have met the Institutions Acceptable Use Policy for Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, MS updates/ patches, allowed and unauthorised applications. The users range from students, staff, JRS users to 3rd party contractors, who need access key services with their own devices.
- Janet Roaming Service (JRS)
Having the ability to audit and track users from different Institutions who wish to use the Janet Roaming Service to access key resources from their University.
- Conference Areas
A number of our customers are using Campus Manager to provide a conference delegate service in areas within the University / College. The Institution can then provide a service to conference delegates with billing capabilities for Internet Access and charge on a per room or per delegate basis. Guest access is also a growing requirement using ISP Wireless services.
Bradford Campus Manager Version 3.0
Over the next month, Campus Manager Version 3.0 will be released. This will provide a number of new features and functions as a result of customer requests, significantly improving its suitability within the Higher Education sector and also addressing compliance rules and regulations within other vertical markets such as Health, Local Government and Corporate.
