Khipu's EDUCATION Micro-site for Universities, Colleges and Schools
Many Educational Institutions are looking to maintain a competitive advantage by enriching the learning experience and working environment for students, staff and guests, through their investment in IT.
In response to customer demand for regular updates on our implementations of "Bradford Campus Manager" NAC and Alcatel-Lucent Wireless Solutions into the Education sector, we have launched our Education based micro site to provide further information on customer projects, their experiences and deployment options of Network Access Control and Identity Management.
The Bradford Campus Manager Solution has been specifically developed for Education environments to address the growing requirement for secure and flexible access for students, staff and even guests (such as 3rd party contractors, visitors from other institutions etc) to Campus and, or Halls of Residences networks.
By addressing these requirements, one of the key areas that we focus on, is to ensure customer satisfaction (i.e. the students or staff) by providing good user experience with easy self service options, enabling the users to register and go through the Institutions security policy process automatically with no or very little intervention from IT User Support departments.

The following are Technology Updates on the Bradford Campus Manager Solution, now implemented into over 80 UK and Ireland Institutions, ranging from 250 users up to 10,000 users with over 50,000 devices at a single campus.
The BCM Remote Scan
Institutions such as the University of Nottingham, Trinity College Dublin and Durham University use this facility to allow their students to scan their devices for compliance offsite, at home or abroad. This improves the users experience as it speeds up the registration and scanning process, getting students on-line quicker and with no or little assistance from IT Support.
The remote portal can be used for just scanning or actually registering the Student & device(s) if required.

Guest Contractor Services (GCS) available to BCM customers
The GCS solution for guest and contractor access will be available within the next code release of Campus Manager, providing the following features at no additional cost;
- Allowing different departments (sponsors) to create username and passwords for different types of guests with full audit and printing ticket capabilities
- Create a wide range of roles for guest users, granting them access to areas based on who and where they are

Full Integration with Alcatel-Lucent (OEM Aruba) Wireless Solution
BCM will integrate with a range of leading Wireless manufacturers, however Bradford has a unique partnership with Alcatel-Lucent and Aruba Networks to ensure a tighter integration and greater support for enhanced feature sets responding directly to customer demands.
We have deployed BCM across a range of wireless manufacturers, however our largest integrated deployments to date are across Alcatel-Lucent wireless controllers.
